New Slang Words added to the Dictionary


The English language is ever evolving and changing and new words are constantly being added to the dictionary. Here I have listed some new slang words that are becoming common. Have fun with these and see if you can use them in a sentence. Send me your sentences and I will correct a few and put them on the blog!


awesomesauce, adj: (US informal) extremely good; excellent

bestie: Informal. a person’s best friend.

binge watch : watch multiple episodes one after the other often by digital streaming or DVDs.

brain fart, n: (informal) a temporary mental lapse or failure to reason correctly

for realsies : 
This is usually used when you are surprised to learn something. Or it can be used to add how serious you are being about something.

fur baby, n: a person’s dog, cat or other furry pet

Grexit, n: the potential withdrawal of Greece from the eurozone.

lifehack: a tip, trick, or efficient method for doing or managing a day-to-day task or activity

smartwatch: a computing device that resembles a wristwatch and is attached to a band worn around the wrist.
vape : Inhaling and exhaling the vapor produced by an e-cigarette.

Woot : an exclamation of joy or excitement
